Mr. Newton has served as the IT director at USD 245 since the Summer of 2015 and began teaching High School computer related classes during the afternoons since 2018.  He retired from the Army in the Fall of 2014 after 27 years of service starting as a Private in 1986 and transitioning to officer in 1998.  He retired with the rank of Major.  In 2021 he joined the coaching staff of the SCC Trap team.
